Leslie Archer has always been fascinated by the relationship between art and design. Over her career, she has drawn inspiration from the masters—Picasso, Agnes Martin, Clyfford Still, Richard Diebenkorn, and, most profoundly, Rembrandt. Particularly mesmerized by Rembrandt’s virtuosity with light and movement, Leslie seeks to find a similar depth and composition in her own work. “I have such adulation for the work of the masters. The first time I saw Rembrandt’s The Night Watch, I couldn’t wait to return to my studio and get to work,” says Leslie.
